Youth Protection Program Update

The JDI Youth Protection Program is making significant progress and the Youth Protection Committee would like to thank all of those that have made comments and given suggestions.

The Youth Protection Program materials have passed review of the SGC Line Officers and the Board of Trustees and is now being sent to the JDI Legal Counsel and Insurance Company for their review.

The selection of the background investigation company and the finalization of the training materials are also underway. The first rollout will begin in February in the jurisdiction of Utah. 4 Grand Jurisdictions and 2 Supreme Jurisdictions have been targeted to begin their implementation prior to Supreme Session in Wisconsin. This will give the YPP committee experience in a representative cross section of large and small Jurisdictions prior to Session.

As the program moves forward each Jurisdiction will be assigned a date to begin the program and a one year time frame to complete the program requirements. This allows for an orderly implementation that is spread out across the United States Jurisdictions. The Initial Implementation Schedule will be published once it has been approved by JDI Legal Counsel and the Insurance Company.

If there are any questions or concerns, please direct them to the Board of Trustees YPP Liaison, Shelly Cole at GoJobie@aol.com
