Lacey Russell, Miss MD Job's Daughter 2007-08

Hello! My name is Lacey Russell, and I am the Miss Maryland Job’s Daughter 2008. I have been a member of Job’s Daughters for 8 years. This organization has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I started out as a Jobie-to-bee at age 10 (the age for this is now age 9). My first big event was the Miss Job’s Daughter Pageant. There, I had absolutely no idea what was going on. The daughter representing my Bethel won that night, and I thought, to myself, she is amazing. I wished I could be as awesome as her. I never dreamed in a million years that anyone would ever call my name as the new Miss Maryland Job’s Daughter, but on December 1st, 2007, it actually happened.I am also a Past Honored Queen of my Bethel and currently serve as Marshal.

I am a senior in High School and am also dually enrolled in community college. I also have had a job for the past year. In my spare time, which I don’t have much of, I volunteer at my local Rescue Squad.

Being the Miss Job’s Daughter means the world to me. I love each and every one of the girls in the state of Maryland and am extremely proud to be representing them. During my term as Miss Maryland, my mascot is Care Bears, mostly the Funshine Bear because the young women I represent are so fun and outgoing. My motto is “Let your light shine”, in memory of Mom Corky Ross, a Past Grand Guardian of Maryland.

To the Daughters of Maryland:

Thank you so much for supporting me so far this year. I love you all and you are the reason myself and the adults in this organization do what we do. Remember, this is YOUR organization. If you need any help memorizing parts or need rides, please don’t hesitate to call myself, Mom Gina, or any of the other Grand Officers. See you all around.
